Summer solstice mid-summer post #7 #musings #blogging #holiday

It’s the day after the Fourth of July 250th Independence Day for the USA and I almost decided to wait for tomorrow to create this post. I had a three day weekend where I didn’t have to work the Full Time Job through most of it, unlike Juneteenth weekend.

June was rough for work, and with that mid-summer passed by with only a quiet acknowledgement to close family and friends. I didn’t have the spoons to get on social media to say Happy 4th yesterday except for a select few people. I wished a friend Happy Belated Birthday (she shares her birthday with Uncle Sam) today and pretty much played computer and card games most of the weekend.

The rest of the time, I read, To the point that I staid up late (or early, depending on how you look at it) just chilling. I ate when I felt hungry, which isn’t much with the medication I’m on. I continue to garden some and the lilies are blooming.

Speaking of lilies, here are a couple of pictures. The top lily below is a white double oriental lily I planted this spring, and the bottom one is a picture of my Starfighter lilies I’ve had for years.

As for plans the rest of this month, not many. I want to edit/create new stories but the muse, or motivation, is lacking. Could be ADD/ADHD issues. It wouldn’t surprise me. The stress of work tends to shut down the creative side. Always has. We’ll see. Maybe I’ll get it back and eventually get those stories I’ve been talking about to the editor and revamp covers to republish. It’s another “we’ll see” situation. Perhaps I will be able to this month. One can hope.

I’m going to sign off with 45 minutes before the end of today saying a good night to all and for those in the US, I hope you had a great Fourth.
