Where did the time go? #amwriting #CampNaNoWriMo #PodCastle #RGRTransAwareEvent

Wow. Time flies when full time work explodes. (I see a theme here.)

While I’ve been working an inordinate amount of hours for that blasted Real Life job, I have done some writing and plans are in the works for more. Not as much writing as I would like; but between reading, reviewing and the little writing I have done, it’s kept my sanity on more than one occasion.

I just finished creating posts for another review (see post today) and I had posted one from a new author 11 days ago: The Palisade. Great story. I would recommend it. I’m working on the second book in that series in my copious spare time (yes, the sarcasm is high in that one). Expect a review for it in the next month. I hope.

I am doing more reviews both here and RGR. In fact, RGR is doing a Transgender Awareness Event starting today in response to a certain President’s stance on Transgenders in the the military a couple of weeks ago. It’s two weeks of reviews, spotlights, giveaways, guest post, and fun. Come join use as we celebrate all Transgender fiction. There’s even a podcast done by one of our own at RGR. (Not me, thank goodness). Links below.

RGRTransAwareEvent: RGR Trans Aware Event Kickoff

Back in early June, I posted about the new QSF Flash Fiction story in Renewal. Still haven’t heard much more about it as the last couple of months have been hectic. (see start of this post)

Later in June, I found another Flash Fiction contest from a QSF post somewhere on social media, and decided to enter it. PodCastle‘s 2017 Flash Fiction Contest was completed but I didn’t get past the first round. Most liked the beginning but didn’t like the ending. Shrug. There were definitely others more worthy of winning so I’m not surprised. I like my twisty stories. 🙂 Since I didn’t make it, I am free to post it here. It was a whole 500 words and that seemed like luxury. Here you go. Let me know what you think. I might expand it later on. When I get a chance. Isn’t that what a writer says? *smile*

The Lotto Ticket
©2017

by Eloreen Moon

“I have no idea what I’m going to do.” I stared at the Lotto ticket I had at my hand. It matched the numbers just announced on the TV. I turned to my bestie Mitch panicked. I had plenty of magic in me but nothing prepared me for Lady Luck.

“Lucas, before you do anything, you talk to a financial guru.” He immediately answered. “With that much money, once you claim it, you’ll be mobbed by every warlock, ‘were, and weremage– anyone who has even a remote familial connection to you will come out of the woodworks.”

“You’re not kidding,” I snorted. “You know anyone? I’ve got nothing.” My lemur half wanted to get going. As a weremage, a shifter and a magic-user combined, we tend not deal with mundane things like finances, ever.

“Actually, I do.” Mitch stood up smirking, pulled out a warn business card from his wallet, and then presented it to me with flourish. My impatience had me wanting to beat-down his cocky werewolf hide. He pointed to the card. “Kenton’s a distant cousin. He gave that to me when he started up some number of years ago after finishing school here. He’ll know what to do.”

With that, I typed the digits into my phone, and called.

#

The next day, I teleported to the address Kenton had given me when I had set up the appointment for this morning. Driving was a bitch and my magic was fresh. The ticket was in my safe at home– at Mitch’s insistence and Kenton’s confirmation– photo proof the only thing needed on my phone. I walked up to the entrance.

The door swung in as I reached to open, and the most gorgeous guy I had ever seen stood in front of me. Shorter than my 6 feet, a lean swimmer’s body, and an adorable face with dark hair tripped all my buttons. I reigned my lust in as much as I could and reached to shake his hand.

“Hello Lucas, I’m Kenton–” he started; but when our hands met, both of us twitched as the shock of desire, emotions, and recognition passed between us.

We said “Mate” at the same time already in-sync as if we had done this before.

I pulled him into my arms and he went willingly staring at each me in such wonder. “I never thought I would find my mate after all these years.”

“Neither did I.” We kissed, and I realized we had done this before as snippets of lifetimes we had previously lived played through my mind. Startled, I pulled from the kiss both reluctant to stop and curious to know. “Um. Did you see—?”

“Yes,” Kenton said, shock adding to the wonder in his face.

I loosely held him in my arms staring into those intense blue eyes as he held my brown-green ones. Silently, I thanked Lady Luck and the Lotto ticket that had brought us together as we went inside to a new life.

What do you think? Comment below and I’ll respond. Might not be quickly, but I’ll get there.

As for other writings, I’ve gotten some ideas, a request to co-write something, and the urge to work on previous WIPs. I did a little for Camp NaNoWriMo but work, again, got in the way, and writing in July didn’t happen. It’s now mid-August and the work schedule is still high. I spent most of this past weekend working. No rest for the weary.

Well, I have to run. Read some more trans stories for the RGR event and reviews for others. This includes a possible MF story for next month. We’ll have to see. Dragon Con is coming and my annual trek to it.

Review of “Dawn Patrol” (Tidewater 01) by Tami Veldura #LGBT #Contempory #Romance

Moonbeams over Atlanta welcomes author Tami Veldura! Published by Oldewolf Alternascents on July 28, 2017 and is 40 pages.

The Blurb:

A Tidewater Short Story. Contemporary, Stand alone, HEA.

Elias lives for the waves. He’s been surfing off the Tidewater coast since he could crawl, and the connection he’s forged with the ocean is fundamental. Every morning he shares a ritual swim with the local pod of dolphins. Elias is desperate to find a way to express what the sand and the sea mean to him, and local artist Theo could be just what he needs.

Theo’s art has helped him move mountains. It granted him freedom from abusive family and supports his quiet lifestyle. He’s ready for more. So when muscle-bound Elias commissions him for a mural on his bedroom wall, Theo has more than one reason to take the job. It’s time to reach with his heart, an easy thing when Elias is so eager to share what’s in his.

Water is essential when painting, and color is what brings the ocean to life. Elias and Theo were made for each other. It’s only a matter of time before Tidewater brings them together.

The Review:

Thank you IndiGo and William Cooper for the book in exchange for an honest review.

4 Stars

bluestarclipartbluestarclipartbluestarclipartbluestarclipart

I have an affinity to water although not a surfer myself. It’s different to see surfing as a primary focus and not something money-making. Elias does have a job in a call center and that’s about all the reference to what he does for money. Theo is an artist, of course, and nothing mentioned if he does anything else to supplement.  It’s a neat, compact story, with just enough detail to want to know more. There is not a lot of depth for this story but it’s a sweet story about dolphins, a surfer who wants to capture the memory of them surfing with him, and the artist who makes that happen. It so happens that Theo and Elias do get together themselves as sparks fly and the sex scene at the end is hot and makes you want to see more.

There are Point of View shifts and each chapter has the name of the MC it’s focused on. All written in third person but you do have to pay attention to whom is “talking.” I really enjoyed it and love that it’s part of the Tidewater area. So, more stories in the universe are coming. I enjoyed it a lot and look forward to the next standalone in the series. Overall, I give Dawn Patrol 4 out of 5 stars.

Review of “The Palisade” by Rosalind Abel #LGBT #Contempory #Romance

Moonbeams over Atlanta welcomes new author Rosalind Abel! Just a note that this was supposed to be a release day review (Published 6/20/2017), but Real Life got the better of me and I finished the book and review later than I wanted. Oops. Luckily, Rosalind was VERY understanding. 🙂

The Blurb:

Confident businessman Joel Rhodes sees the small California town of Lavender Shores as nothing more than a business transaction and a final stepping-stone to the position he’s been working towards his entire life. It was supposed to be nothing more than one night in town to close the deal, and sleeping with one of the local men, no matter how gorgeous, meant nothing more than a few hours of fun.

Andrew Kelly is perfectly content with the life he has in his hometown.  So much so, that the only thing missing is someone to share it with. Going to bed with a tourist was never meant to be the answer to his dreams, just a beautiful distraction. He could get back to looking for Mr. Right the next day.

Both Andrew and Joel’s worlds are turned upside down when a few hours of pleasure gets extended to a couple of days.  Even that shouldn’t be a big deal. You can’t fall in love in such a short time, that isn’t how it works.  However, if destinies collide, a few short days may be all it takes to find your soul mate. Even so, when secrets and motivations get tangled, destiny may do nothing more than leave two hearts in pieces.

The Review:

Rosalind provided a copy for an honest review. Thank you.

4.5 Stars

bluestarclipartbluestarclipartbluestarclipartbluestarclipart

I was given the blurb which hooked me enough to want to read this story–the start of a new series. Normally, I summarize blurbs in my reviews but I’m not going to this time because you need to see it. The cover was great as well, and I love Lavender the plant, so 2 for 2. After reading this book, I can’t wait for the next one: The Garden, that released July 25th.

Rosalind is very descriptive of Lavender Shores to the point that I could smell the lavender that gave the town the name, taste the food that Andrew and Joel would consume, hear the dialog between the characters, and feel the love that blossoms between them. It’s a slow heat with several points of angst. I could see the conflict coming and it reminded me a bit of seeing a train wreck coming and not being able to do anything bout it. While I love the story, the details, and love these two men have, the “wreckage” did delay finishing the read because I had to stop halfway, when I saw it coming.

Nothing wrong with the angst but there is a reason I don’t do Soap Operas because the obvious conflict that will break the main characters apart is going to happen. Perhaps I’m a bit too empathic, even if it’s only words on a page, but I felt the hurt, pain, and agony of indecision Andrew, and to an extent Joel, felt when the secrets Joel had were revealed later in the book. There is an HEA and the underlying conflict resolves, but to get there, you have to gird yourself and muscle through. It’s well worth the read even if figuring out what is coming fairly early on may stop you. Like other authors I read, you really can’t pass this up, especially if you like angsty stories. It is a contradiction of deep thought and light humor that blends together in a really great story.

There is not a lot of sex between the MCs, but it works with the story. The relationships are the focus but there are some hot scenes when described. Normally, I don’t do half stars in my star reviews either, but for this one, I have to make an exception. Overall, I give The Palisade 4.5 out of 5 stars.

About the Author:

Rosalind Abel grew up tending chickens along side her sweet and faithful Chow, Lord Elgin. While her fantasy of writing novels was born during her teen years, she never would have dreamed she’d one day publish steamy romances about gorgeous men. However, sometimes life turns out better than planned.

In between crafting scorching sex scenes and helping her men find their soul mate, Rosalind enjoys cooking, collecting toys, and making the best damn scrapbooks in the world (this claim hasn’t been proven, but she’s willing to put good money on it).
She adores MM Romance and the power it has to sweep the reader away into worlds filled with passion, steam, and love. Rosalind also enjoys her collection of plot bunnies, and welcomes new fuzzy ones in her home all the time, so feel free to send any adorable ones her way.

Return of the Chauffeur’s Son by Tara Lain #BlogTour #Review #Contemporary #LGBT #Giveaway

Will the promising chef with dreams of starting his own restaurant and winery see the dark, quiet lure of his long time crush’s conservative older brother, Dylan Armstrong?

Return of the Chauffeur’s Son
By Tara Lain

Blurb:
Luca McGrath may be returning to Napa Valley, California, as a promising chef with dreams of starting his own restaurant and winery, but his heart still lives with the bad-boy son of a billionaire, James Armstrong. Luca spent his childhood playing games with the golden boy of California society, so blinded by James he barely noticed the dark, quiet lure of his conservative older brother, Dylan Armstrong.
But now Luca’s home, and his own powers of attraction are enough to make James question his dedicated heterosexuality and his promised marriage to a wealthy and powerful businesswoman. The obvious attraction between Luca and James spurs Dylan into action—but he’s fighting a huge secret. While Luca dreamed of James, Dylan dreamed of Luca. When Luca gets caught in the struggle between the brothers and gets accused of culinary espionage he’s ready to chuck the fairy tale—unable to even imagine Dylan’s power to make his dreams come true.

Excerpt

That soft, deep voice slithered up his spine and filled his brain with even more fog. He turned and watched Dylan amble toward him across the grass, dressed in black jeans and a black long-sleeved T-shirt. He moves like a cat. “I’m not sure I’ve ever seen you in anything but a suit before.”“It does happen—occasionally.” Dylan half smiled.

“They should star you in a movie about a panther that turns into a human.”

Cat People?”

Luca cocked his head. “You know that old movie?”

“Yes. Movies are a passion of mine.”

“Seriously. I thought you just worked all the time.”

“Surprise.” His light green eyes sparkled.

Luca leaned back against the fence. “What are some of your favorites?”

Dylan stepped to the fence and leaned against it too, about two feet from Luca. Do I really feel heat coming off his skin? Luca took a deep breath.

Dylan looked up at the stars. “I love No Country for Old Men.”

Luca barked a little laugh.

Dylan glanced at him. “Funny?”

“It’s just the stereotype of the powerful businessman taking out his enemies wholesale. Sorry.”

“Okay. Well, I love The Notebook.”

“You’re kidding?”

“Nope. I don’t think it’s a great movie, but I do love the chemistry between the young couple.”

“Yeah, the old couple’s story was even too sappy for me.”

“I love Michael Clayton.”

“No shit!” Luca chuckled. “One of the least appreciated movies ever. Love that film.”

“But I’ll see almost anything with Tilda Swinton in it.”

“Me too.” He shook his head. How could they have so much in common?

“I also love My Fair Lady.”

“Now you are joking.”

Dylan smiled and gazed at Luca. “No, I’m not joking. I’m gay. Remember?”

The word felt like a karate chop to the windpipe. “Uh, right. Sometimes I forget.”

“So, how’s the new job?”

“Uh, wonderful. They really want me to develop new recipes and dishes. It’s what I love—along with wine making.”

“Oh? You’re interested in viticulture?”

Luca nodded. “Part of my degree is in winery management.”

Dylan pushed away from the fence. “You’re a man of many talents, Luca.”

What the fuck did he mean by that?

Dylan strolled a few feet toward the house.

Luca said, “By the way, I wanted you to know that James invited my dad and me to your party and polo match this weekend.”

That got his attention. He looked back with a crease between the beautiful eyes. “Oh? When did he do that?”

“Earlier tonight, when he and Nila had dinner at the restaurant. She seconded the invitation and, since it’s kind of her party, I figured it would be okay.” Did that sound like he had a chip on his shoulder?

“Then I’m sure it must be okay.”

Luca stared at the grass. “If you ever want somebody to watch a movie with, just holler.” Crap! He wanted to bite off the tip of his tongue.

Dylan looked equally astonished. “I’ll keep that in mind.” He turned and walked into the shadows.

Why the hell did I say that? The sound of the big house door opening and closing carried across the quiet space.

 Dylan just looks so lonely.

 And so damned beautiful.

Review
I was provided a copy for an honest review.
I love Tara Lain’s work. I was given the opportunity to review and post for the blog tour, and I jumped on it. The blurb hooked me, and seemed somewhat familiar, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. I saw mention, I think in the book itself, that it was based on a favorite movie of Tara’s. So, I went searching. Sure enough, you have to see Sabrina (of which I had seen and loved it) with Audrey Hepburn (there is a remake later) to get the idea of this tale. Thank you Google fu and Tara for doing a MM version.
Tara did a beautiful job of this retailing of a classic love story. Luca McGrath is the son of the billionaire Armstrong family’s chauffeur who dreamed of the heterosexual bad-boy James. Meanwhile, the older brother, Dylan, has dreamed about Luca. We see the start of something between James and Luca despite a female fiance, but there grows the attraction between Luca and Dylan that has everyone involved confused but the families themselves. There is much dating and making between both he and James and he and Dylan as Luca’s affection changes from one to the other. I wanted to find out how it worked out in the backdrop of Luca’s working as a Chef for a local spotlighted contest, subsequent accusations of espionage with the rival restaurant, and Luca coming into his own.
I did have a little trouble with how long it took Dylan to realize his love for Luca, but it all worked out and I’m happy with the storyline. There is an HEA, and I won’t go more into the dynamics between the brothers and Luca. Needless to say, family is everything including those that you make. Overall, it was a great story that everyone should read even if you haven’t see the movie it’s based on. I give it 4.5 stars out of 5.

Review of “Dim Sum Asylum” by Rhys Ford #LGBT #Urban #Fantasy #Romance #NewRelease

Moonbeams over Atlanta welcomes another great new release from Rhys Ford! 🙂

The Review:

Rhys provided the story to me for an honest review.  This is the expanded version of short released in the Charmed and Dangerous anthology that I read and was interested in seeing what she did with it. It was a great story originally.

5 Stars

bluestarclipartbluestarclipartbluestarclipartbluestarclipartbluestarclipart

Rhys returns to mystery and suspense with a longer version of the story with the same name from the Charmed and Dangerous anthology. Reading this version, I started getting déjà vu because I remember parts of the original story. At some point, I will probably re-read the original story because I’m curious as to how they are different.

From the beginning, the action is immediate and the detail to area amazing. I love the details Rhys does and this is no exception. We meet Senior Inspector Roku MacCormick of the San Francisco Chinatown Arcane Crimes Division as he is having a bad day: A Monday no less. Things continue to go sideways and he meets Trent Leonard, a new partner he can’t trust, with secrets of his own. Together, they are to bring down a spell-casting serial killer. They both get into trouble with a capital T, but they come out in the end closer to each other and with what I would say is a happy for now ending leaning to happy every after.  This is where I say this could be the start of a new series. 🙂 Yes, Please.

I really enjoyed the fast past-paced trouble Roku and Trent get into and all for the protection of Chinatown. Roku has to overcome trust issues and Trent has things he must face before his hope can be realized. Both have to lean on each other, and the journey they make is filled with tears, hope, and humor. It will gut you, it will lift you, and it will make you yell out loud, “No! you can’t do that!” I would like to see more in this universe because it’s a very interesting one.

Overall, I give Dim Sum Asylum 5 out of 5 stars.

#amwriting. Musings renewed. Reviewing again.

Hi ya’all. Sorry for not a lot of activity. Been a hectic couple of months. *looks at last post* 3 months. Oops.

I have been reviewing more but mostly on RGR. I do have a review for here coming up. Stay tuned. Hint. It will post in two days… June will have more reviews, spotlights, and tours. I’m going to try to have a few each month at least with the goal to posting something once a week. We’ll see how that goes. I think I’ve said that before…

I’ve been writing some. I did another story for this year’s QSF Flash Fiction contest. This year’s them is Renewal and the post about it is here. It was accepted to the paperback book earlier this month to be published later this year. More on that when I know. This will be book three. 🙂

I just finished a bout of writing inspiration that snuck up on me when I wasn’t paying attention. A blurb of a book I wanted to read about paranormal hybrids made be think about writing something myself, and I found a different WIP I started at the end of last year. I opened it up in word and went to town. Three hours later, I added 2300 words. Go me. Now to figure out the beginning, stick a plot into it, and finish it. That would be something.

Lots of little signs have been showing up recently that writing and getting a manuscript finished would be good. New publishers I never thought to look at and more submission calls are showing up everywhere. It’s like I’m slowly waking up after a long sleep. Here’s hoping I can stay awake and enjoy this creativity. As long as work cooperates, I think I will.

With that, I need to go prep another post for Moonbeams over Atlanta for next week. And one for RGR. Hmmm, I need to finish that book first.

Signing off.

Review of “There’s This Guy” by Rhys Ford #LGBT #Contemporary #Romance

So, it’s been awhile since Moonbeams over Atlanta did a review. And what better timing than a new release of Rhys Ford! 🙂

The Review:

Rhys provided the story to me for an honest review.  Thank you. This is a contemporary instead of her usual mystery and suspense. I liked it. Read on.

5 Stars

bluestarclipartbluestarclipartbluestarclipartbluestarclipartbluestarclipart

I was intrigued when Rhys said this was a contemporary. She usually does mystery and suspense, and does it very well. Sometimes contemporary romances are generic, sometimes they are fluff, and sometimes they do have some depth to them. There’s This Guy is like other’s Rhys has done and gives you gut punches while making you giddy with laughter almost at the same time.

We meet Jake Moore, a welder by trade during the day and and metal sculpture artist by night. Then we meet Dallas Yates, a developer who sees his eye candy across the street from his newly purchased art deco-era building in serious need of renovation, and wants to get to know the man he drools over. There is angst– Rhys is really good at this– and there is a little bit of a mystery but not nearly so knock-your-teeth-out bordering on dark as her other stories. Don’t get me wrong, you still see blood, gore, and even death, but they are not the focus as with her mysteries and suspense novels. It still has it’s dark moments followed by lighter ones. You will feel warm and fuzzy one minute and then wonder how one of the main characters is going to recover from THAT. It flowed really well, had it’s crying moments– both yourself and the characters–, and most of all a friendship between two characters with depth and breadth that grew to love. I foresee a really good start of a series, and I want to see Celeste’s story. 🙂 Hint. Hint.

Overall, it’s a really great story set in a different genre than normal but Rhys still gives us her style of writing. I can see here doing more in this genre and succeeding.

With this, I give There’s This Guy 5 stars.

When their bassist quit right before the beginning of their tour, saying he needed to go back to a normal life, the band hired on a female to take his place.

Kit Ellis knew she was stepping into a predominately male industry when she signed on with Something Wicked. There weren’t that many female bassist in the business, but the gutsy woman knew she could run with the big dogs. Her dream had come true when she landed a spot as the newest band member for Something Wicked, but there was one problem she had not anticipated. Aiden Hawke ignited something inside her, and with each day spent together, their heated glances and casual flirting sent her hormones straight into the danger zone.

One steamy night at the Get Rocked Festival in Las Vegas, Aiden and Kit find themselves giving in to their need for each other. Can the two of them survive when Kit’s family calls with news of trouble at home, or will Kit give up her dream after she realizes that she crossed the line by falling for the lead singer of Something Wicked?

Jade C. Jamison

For years, Jade C. Jamison tried really hard to write what she thought was more “literary” fiction, but she found herself compelled to write what you read by her today–sometimes gritty, raw, realistic stories and other times humorous, light tales–but most of the stories she writes revolve around relationships and characters finding their way through life. While she doesn’t confine herself to just one genre, nor is there a nice neat label for what she writes, most of her work could be called erotic romance. Her main writing passions include rock star romance, romantic comedy, and romantic suspense. She lives in Colorado with her husband and four children.

Lashell Collins

Lashell Collins is an American author of romantic suspense, paranormal romance and rockstar romance. She walks to the beat of her own drum, but that’s okay ’cause she’s got a pretty good sense of rhythm. Basically, she’s a geeky, quirky, laid-back, rocker-loving kinda girl who’s married to a retired cop, motorcycle-riding, bad-boy alpha all her own, and she likes to write about sexy police officers, werewolves and rockstars, or some inventive combination of the three!

When she’s not busy tapping away on her laptop and living vicariously through her characters, she can usually be found watching Grimm, rocking out to Slash ft. Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators, stuffing her face full of Chinese food, or riding on the back of her husband’s Harley-Davidson. Between her book characters and the ones she knows in real life, her plate stays pretty full. But she loves to hear from readers, so give her a shout sometime!

Bella Jeanisse

Bella Jeanisse lives for rock music. Addicted to concerts, Avenged Sevenfold, fictional rockers, and blasting music in the car, she can’t get enough. After her father turned her on to Queen, there was no going back. Of course, it didn’t stop there. Playing guitar became a pastime, which didn’t turn into a career… until she started to pen her fantasies and publish them.
Originally from Brooklyn, New York City, she grew up with access to clubs like L’Amour and CBGBs, hung out in Greenwich Village, as well as had plenty of friends in bands. No wonder rockers stayed on her mind. Bringing her ideas to life was a long time coming.
She is now living near Tampa, FL with 3 kids and 2 grandkids, as a single mom. Her family supports her writing even when it seems to take up more time than they feel is necessary. Can’t stop the muse, ya know! Besides erotic rock star romances, Bella also writes about wild bikers, hot college men and more.

Kacey Hamford is a pen name for me (Kelly). I am in my thirties and started this journey in 2014, I love to read romance books about rockstars, so thought I would have a go at writing one myself. I really enjoyed it and got a boost of confidence once my books started selling.

I have gone on to write a young adult series, set in a college. The series is still on going.

I also have an MC series, it was something different for me to write and I enjoyed it so much, especially when I got readers telling me they would love to read books about the sub characters.

I work full time as a dog groomer, I love to read and my friends and family are very important to me. They are all so supportive of my writing career and encourage me to carry on.

#GRLRetreat I’m going to GRL this year!

First year going and general admission but I got my ticket today.. Here’s hoping I can be a Supporting Author next year. But, I’m going!

Work is still mostly what once been doing but I’m going to at least get to reviewing again, if not writing.

Maybe I’ll get back to blogging too. 🙂
Eloreen

oh wow… Sorry for the radio silence #musings

I’m so sorry. I just realized I haven’t posted in… Over two months. It has been a rather busy time. Work ramped up so much that I was doing an average of 14 hour days for way too long. To the point that I’ve been eating, breathing, and not sleeping work. It has slowed down this last couple of days, so I’m thankful.

A lot of things have happened since my last update. I didn’t finish #NaNoWriMo (obviously). The holidays were rough but nice to stay home for a break at Christmas and New Year’s. Last year of celebrity deaths from when I grew up which made it more poignant than expected. Sadly, it also heralded the start of a political presidency that culminated in the inauguration today of one of the most controversial candidates in modern times. I didn’t watch. I generally don’t because I can’t literally sit through them. I don’t watch TV much in the first place; add politics to it and I’m done. I was on Facebook but didn’t stay very long.

I have been itching to write, but no time to be had. By the time I started having time, I couldn’t sit any more because that position was causing my muscles to spam and start to seize. I need another massage. I might schedule one in the next couple of weeks before I leave on my cruise in February. I’ll probably will be away to prepare for that since I have been on a cruise since I was a young adult. Boy, things have changed…

With the cruise vacation, I hope to relax enough that I can write again. It should be interesting. I might post pictures if I can ever find my darn camera…

I’m going to rest now. Maybe take some Advil to relax those pesky muscles, so I don’t hurt any more. And dinner. Dinner is good.
